yanislav about
Hi, my name is Yanislav (or just Yani) and I'm a first year computer science
student at university.
As you might guess from the design, my interest is in the low-level: operating
systems, C & Assembly, and the methods behind cyber security. The design was
heavily inspired by Arch Linux as that was my first experience with the Linux
OS. I discovered the thrill of working with systems on a deeper level after
spending hours partitioning drives, setting up i3wm, and configuring config
files instead of just going to sleep.
Currently, I'm focused on building a strong foundation in C/Assembly
programming and cyber security concepts like networking, operating systems,
system architecture, etc.
In the future, I'm excited to learn about things like pentesting, exploit
development, reverse engineering, and red teaming techniques, plus how it's
all used to attack/defend real-world systems.
I spend my free time reading relevant books, browsing Facebook Marketplace for
tech deals (but never buying anything...), and sharing everything I do
publicly so I can build up my communication and documentation
skills alongside my relevant technical ones.
Long-term, I'm chasing offensive cyber security because it feels like a
perfect mix of puzzle-solving and mischief, but with a real positive impact
to the world.
